Amesbury MVP Program

Since 2014, the Jeanne Geiger Center has partnered with high schools to implement Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP), one of the longest-running and most widely influential gender violence, sexual harassment, and bullying prevention programs in the world. In 1993, Dr. Jackson Katz and his colleagues at Northeastern University’s Center for the Study of Sport in Society developed MVP, which has inspired countless students and people of all ages to challenge and change social, cultural, and institutional norms that support abusive behavior. MVP high school trainings empower students to take an active role in promoting a positive school climate.
