Brockton Kidz Konnect

Kidz Konnect is Violence Prevention Initiative referral-based program for youth in the City of Brockton. This program is funded by the Department of Public Health. We provide services through collaboration with the Brockton Public Schools and many other community partners.

Kidz Konnect is a free program! The services provided include groups and activities for youth who are interested in being leaders in their community. Topics of discussion at weekly meetings include Empowerment, Self-Esteem, Healthy Relationships, Mentoring, and Bullying.

Advocacy Action: Student Survey on the Impacts of Remote Learning

High school students designed a survey to gather ideas from their classmates about what their teachers and school leaders could do to better support them

Two high school students noticed common struggles amongst their peers during remote learning, and decided to create a student survey to gather ideas from their classmates about what their teachers and school leaders could do to better support them.

They conducted a test run of the survey they created, and used the initial data to show their principal why distributing the survey would be a good idea — the principal agreed.

Although their survey was about remote learning specifically, this advocacy approach is one that can be used in any learning situation. They hope this guide will be a useful tool for other students who want to get started creating their own version of a student survey to collect feedback that can guide decisions their school, district, or state leaders are making that impact students.
